    Diagnosis-related group (DRG) system is patient classification system designed to produce limited number of classes
    which are relatively similar in terms of resource consumption and clinical characteristics. The aim of this study was to
    assess the level of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of Turkish health care providers toward DRG system
    implemented in Turkey.A total of 238 healthcare providers were randomly selected from two urbanand one rural hospital
    in Turkey.A questionnaire was used for data collection; contacting 32 items (10 items about knowledge, 12 items about
    attitude and 10 items about the practice) and its validity and reliability were confirmed. Data analysis was performed
    using chi-square and multivariate logistic regression.In this study,only one third of healthcare providers showed good
    knowledge (35.7%) and good practice (37.4%) about DRG system,compared to 54.2% of them showed good attitude.There
    was significant difference between age, gender, occupation groups and whether the respondents have attended a
    workshop for DRG system in terms of KAP (p > 0.05).These results indicated the need for further actions to implement
    DRG system in terms of creation of suitable environment and increasing awareness among healthcare providers,
    especially male, medical doctors, nurses, elderly, and those who have never attended a workshop, in addition to regular
    review to ensure the program would reach its targets.

    The VoIP services provide fertile ground for criminal activity, thus identifying the transmitting computer devices from recorded VoIP call may help the forensic investigator to reveal useful information. It also proves the authenticity of the call recording submitted to the court as evidence. This paper extended the previous study on the use of recorded VoIP call for blind source computer device identification. Although initial results were promising but theoretical reasoning for this is yet to be found. The study suggested computing entropy of mel-frequency cepstrum coefficients (entropy-MFCC) from near-silent segments as an intrinsic feature set that captures the device response function due to the tolerances in the electronic components of individual computer devices. By applying the supervised learning techniques of naïve Bayesian, linear logistic regression, neural networks and support vector machines to the entropy-MFCC features, state-of-the-art identification accuracy of near 99.9% has been achieved on different sets of computer devices for both call recording and microphone recording scenarios. Furthermore, unsupervised learning techniques, including simple k-means, expectation-maximization and density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) provided promising results for call recording dataset by assigning the majority of instances to their correct clusters.

    Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) are the most prevalent diseases responsible for visual impairment in the world. This work investigates discrimination potential in the texture of color fundus images to distinguish between diseased and healthy cases by avoiding the prior lesion segmentation step. It presents a retinal background characterization approach and explores the potential of Local Tetra Patterns (LTrP) for texture classification of AMD, DR and Normal images. Five different experiments distinguishing between DR - normal, AMD - normal, DR - AMD, pathological - normal and AMD - DR - normal cases were conducted and validated using the proposed approach, and promising results were obtained. For all five experiments, different classifiers namely, AdaBoost, c4.5, logistic regression, naive Bayes, neural network, random forest and support vector machine were tested. We experimented with three public datasets, ARIA, STARE and E-Optha. Further, the performance of LTrP is compared with other texture descriptors, such as local phase quantization, local binary pattern and local derivative pattern. In all cases, the proposed method obtained the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and f-score values higher than 0.78 and 0.746 respectively. It was found that both performance measures achieve over 0.995 for DR and AMD detection using a random forest classifier. The obtained results suggest that the proposed technique can discriminate retinal disease using texture information and has potential to be an important component for an automated screening solution for retinal images.

    BACKGROUND: The practice of modern contraceptives still remains a sceptical issue in the society and dormant due to increasing objection of husbands who play a significant role in the family planning practice.
    OBJECTIVES: This study was done to determine the factors affecting the ever use of modern contraceptive methods among married men visiting a healthcare clinic in Malaysia.
    MATERIAL AND METHOD: A cross sectional study of 443 men aged over 18 years was conducted using convenient sampling from January 2016 till March 2016 at a primary care clinic. A self-administered questionnaire assessing sociodemographic characteristic, attitude towards family planning, spousal communication and ever used of modern contraceptive methods was used.
    RESULTS: The proportion of ever used modern contraception was 48% (n=192). Multiple logistic regression revealed that spousal communication on family planning (Adjusted OR 15.8; 95% CI 7.0 - 35.6) and attitude towards marital relationship (Adjusted OR 1.1; CI 1.0 - 1.1) were significant predictors for ever used of modern contraception among married men.
    CONCLUSION: The proportion of ever used modern contraception is still not high. Men who communicated with their spouse on modern contraception and perceived family planning as means to preserve their marital relationship were more likely to practice modern contraceptive method.

    Feature selection has been widely applied in many areas such as classification of spam emails, cancer cells, fraudulent claims, credit risk, text categorisation and DNA microarray analysis. Classification involves building predictive models to predict the target variable based on several input variables (features). This study compares filter and wrapper feature selection methods to maximise the classifier accuracy. The logistic regression was used as a classifier while the performance of the feature selection methods was based on the classification accuracy, Akaike information criteria (AIC), Bayesian information criteria (BIC), Area Under Receiver operator curve (AUC), as well as sensitivity and specificity of the classifier. The simulation study involves generating data for continuous features and one binary dependent variable for different sample sizes. The filter methods used are correlation based feature selection and information gain, while the wrapper methods are sequential forward and sequential backward elimination. The simulation was carried out using R, an open-source programming language. Simulation results showed that the wrapper method (sequential forward selection and sequential backward elimination) methods were better than the filter method in selecting the correct features.

    Background: Limited efforts have been made to evaluate medication adherence among subsidized and self-paying patients.

    Objective: To investigate medication adherence among patients with and without medication subsidies and to identify factors that may influence patients' adherence to medication. Setting: Government healthcare institutions in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan and private healthcare institutions in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

    Methods: This cross-sectional study sampled patients with and without medication subsidies (self-paying patients). Only one of the patient's medications was re-packed into Medication Event Monitoring Systems (MEMS) bottles, which were returned after four weeks. Adherence was defined as the dose regimen being executed as prescribed on 80% or more of the days. The factors that may influence patients' adherence were modelled using binary logistic regression. Main outcome measure: Percentage of medication adherence.

    Results: A total of 97 patients, 50 subsidized and 47 self-paying, were included in the study. Medication adherence was observed in 50% of the subsidized patients and 63.8% of the self-paying patients (χ2=1.887, df=1, p=0.219). None of the evaluated variables had a significant influence on patients' medication adherence, with the exception of attending drug counselling. Patients who attended drug counselling were found to be 3.3 times more likely to adhere to medication than those who did not (adjusted odds ratio of 3.29, 95% CI was 1.42 to 7.62, p = 0.006).

    Conclusion: There is no significant difference in terms of medication adherence between subsidized and self-paying patients. Future studies may wish to consider evaluating modifiable risk factors in the examination of non-adherence among subsidized and self-paying patients in Malaysia.

    Ageing is associated with increased oxidative stress accompanied by cognitive decline. The aim of this study was to evaluate oxidative stress biomarkers and their possible relationship with cognitive performances during ageing among the Malay population. Approximately 160 healthy Malay adults aged between 28 and 79 years were recruited around Selangor and Klang Valley. Cognitive function was assessed by Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), forward digit span (FDS), backward digit span (BDS), digit symbol, Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test immediate recalled [RAVLT(I)] and delayed recalled [RAVLT(D)], and visual reproduction immediate recalled (VR-I) and delayed recalled (VR-II). DNA damage, plasma protein carbonyl and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were also determined. Cognitive function test showed significant lower scores of MoCA, BDS, RAVLT(I), RAVLT(D), digit symbol, VR-I, and VR-II in the older age group (60 years old) compared with the 30-, 40-, and 50-year-old group. The extent of DNA damage was sequential with age: 60 > 50 > 40 > 30, whereas protein carbonyl was higher in 40-, 50-, and 60-year-old groups compared with the youngest group (30 years old). However, the MDA level was observed unchanged in all age groups. Approximately 21.88% of the participants had cognitive impairment. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that DNA damage and protein carbonyl levels are predictors for cognitive impairment in healthy Malays. In conclusion, cognitive decline occurred in healthy adult Malay population at an early age of 30 years old with corresponding higher DNA damage and protein oxidation.

    Background: The success of an injury intervention program can be measured by the proportion of successful return to work (RTW). This study examined factors of successful return to employment among workers suffering from work-related injuries.

    Methods: Data were obtained from the Social Security Organization, Malaysia database consisting of 10,049 RTW program participants in 2010-2014. The dependent variable was the RTW outcome which consisted of RTW with same employer, RTW with new employer or unsuccessful return. Multinomial logistic regression was performed to test the likelihood of successful return with same employer and new employer against unsuccessful return.

    Results: Overall, 65.3% of injured workers were successfully returned to employment, 52.8% to the same employer and 12.5% to new employer. Employer interest; motivation; age 30-49 years; intervention less than 9 months; occupational disease; injuries in the lower limbs, upper limbs, and general injuries; and working in the manufacturing, services, and electrical/electronics were associated with returning to work with the same employer against unsuccessful return. Male, employer interest, motivation, age 49 years or younger, intervention less than 6 months, occupational disease, injuries in the upper limbs and services sector of employment were associated with returning to new employer against unsuccessful return.

    Conclusion: There is a need to strengthen employer commitment for early and intensified intervention that will lead to improvement in the RTW outcome.

    OBJECTIVES: To determine the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS), ascertain the status of coronary risk biomarkers and establish the independent predictors of these biomarkers among the Negritos.

    SETTINGS: Health screening programme conducted in three inland settlements in the east coast of Malaysia and Peninsular Malaysia.

    SUBJECTS: 150 Negritos who were still living in three inland settlements in the east coast of Malaysia and 1227 Malays in Peninsular Malaysia. These subjects were then categorised into MS and non-MS groups based on the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) consensus worldwide definition of MS and were recruited between 2010 and 2015. The subjects were randomly selected and on a voluntary basis.

    PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES: This study was a cross-sectional study. Serum samples were collected for analysis of inflammatory (hsCRP), endothelial activation (sICAM-1) and prothrombogenesis [lp(a)] biomarkers.

    RESULTS: MS was significantly higher among the Malays compared with Negritos (27.7%vs12.0%). Among the Malays, MS subjects had higher hsCRP (p=0.01) and sICAM-1 (p<0.05) than their non-MS counterpart. There were no significant differences in all the biomarkers between MS and the non-MS Negritos. However, when compared between ethnicity, all biomarkers were higher in Negritos compared with Malays (p<0.001). Binary logistic regression analysis affirmed that Negritos were an independent predictor for Lp(a) concentration (p<0.001).

    CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that there may possibly be a genetic influence other than lifestyle, which could explain the lack of difference in biomarkers concentration between MS and non-MS Negritos and for Negritos predicting Lp(a).

    The age-old wisdom is that “women live longer than men”. Gender difference in life expectancy is becoming a
    worldwide phenomenon both in developed and developing countries. The process of ageing may be viewed
    from the perspectives of physical, psychological, and social-economic wellbeing. We investigated gender
    difference in understanding ageing in relation to life expectancy, fears relating to diseases and deteriorating
    economic status, and perceived old age comfort and their preparedness. Data were obtained from an online
    survey and in-person interview of 518 respondents aged 40 years and older residing in Malaysia, which was
    based on a convenience sample collected from May 2015 to January 2016. Data were analysed using chisquared
    tests and multinomial logistic regression. There were varying views between men and women when
    it came to understanding ageing in relation to life expectancy, fears of ageing, deteriorating economic status
    and their perception of old age comfort. Women were more optimistic about living longer compared to men
    but feared more the consequences of old age diseases. In spite of displaying less concern about financial
    preparedness, women were, however, willing to cut down expenses, while men would prefer longer working
    hours to ensure a comfortable retirement.

    This study aimed to assess the uptake of recommended vaccines and to identify the factors associated with the vaccines' uptake among Malaysian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. A cross-sectional survey among Malaysian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in 2018. The uptake of the recommended vaccines was surveyed through an anonymous self-administered questionnaire to pilgrims attending a pre-departure Hajj/Umrah orientation course. Descriptive statistics were used for elaborating the demographic characteristics and vaccines uptake of the respondents. Multiple logistic regression was used for predicting the factors associated with the vaccines' uptake. A total of 1,274 pilgrims participated in the study with a mean age (standard deviation) of 42.42 (15.6). A total of 833 (65.4%) participants were females and 232 of the participants (18.2%) had at least more than one chronic disease. The uptake of influenza and pneumococcal vaccines were 28.6% (364/1,274) and 25.4% (324/1,274), respectively. Among the 527 pilgrims who were "at increased risk" of infections, 168 (31.9%) and 184 (34.9%) received influenza and pneumococcal vaccines, respectively. Gender, marital status and occupation were the common predictors associated with vaccines uptake. The vaccination uptake among Malaysian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims is low and declining from previous years. Educating the pilgrims toward vaccine uptake is essential and exploring the barriers for vaccination.

    INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) towards diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) patients in addition to the standard wound care management.

    METHODS: Fifty-eight diabetic patients with ulcers at Wagner Grade 2 and above involved in this study after presented at two study centres of tertiary teaching hospitals. The assigned patients received conventional wound care with additional HBOT given at 2.4 ATA for 90 minutes. Patients in the control group who received conventional wound care only were treated and observed for 30 days. The progress of wound healing was observed and measured at day 0, 10, 20 and 30 of study. The data collected were analysed using SPSS software (ver. 22) to study the association of HBOT towards healing of the diabetic foot ulcers.

    RESULTS: Repeated Measures ANOVA analysis with Greenhouse-Geisser correction indicated that the means of wound size over time points (Day 0, 10, 20 and 30) among patients under HBOT group were statistically significantly different [F(1,61)=30.86, p<0.001)] compared to conventional therapy group. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that HBOT group has nearly 44 times higher odds to achieve at least 30% wound size reduction within the study period (95%CI: 7.18, 268.97, p<0.001).

    CONCLUSION: The results obtained in this study indicated that as an adjunctive therapy to conventional wound care, HBOT affected the rate of healing in diabetic foot ulcers significantly in terms of wound size reduction when compared to administering the conventional wound care alone.

    Assertive community treatment (ACT) is one of the most important elements of mental health care reform in Malaysia. Many studies worldwide have reliably found that ACT has positive impact on several outcome domains such as reduced hospitalization rate, improvement of symptoms and quality of life. This study aimed to assess the outcome of ACT in the aspect of symptom remission and its influencing factors among patients with schizophrenia in the urban city of Kuala Lumpur. A cross sectional study was conducted on 155 patients with schizophrenia who received ACT in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL). The selection was made by simple random sampling. The abbreviated Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was used to determine the status of symptom remission. The socio demographic and relevant clinical data were also assessed. A total of 76% (118) was noted to be in remission. According to logistic regression, the strongest predictor of patients receiving ACT with symptom remission was having good social support (p<0.001) and with higher educational level (p=0.024). The study revealed the effectiveness of ACT in terms of high prevalence of patients with symptom remission. This was despite the model of ACT being studied not fulfilling all fidelity measurements of the standard version of the service. The finding would hopefully act as a propeller for further development in this service area. However, the study
    needs to be replicated through studies with better designs and involving more psychiatric centers.

    CAD accounts for 25% of mortality in Malaysia public hospitals. CABG is one of treatment for patients with CAD, but requires RBC transfusion, which is associated with morbidity and mortality. This study was to evaluate the association between RBC transfusion and morbidity and mortality in CABG patients at the National Heart Centre, Malaysia (IJN). Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study performed using data from 434 patients who underwent CABG in 2013 and 2014. Subjects had systematic random sampling every fifth subject of the patients in the sequence of dates of the year. Data related to the relationship between RBC transfusion with mortality and morbidity, and the predicting factors captured. Results: 64.3% of CABG patients (n = 279) received RBC transfusion perioperatively. Age, gender, BMI, and EF, were factors that contributed for RBC transfusion. RBC transfusion was a contributor to longer intensive care unit length of stay (ICULOS) and hospital length of stay (HLOS). Multiple logistic regression revealed, for every 1 year increase of age, there is 3.5% higher chance of transfusion. Whereas an increase of 1 kg/m2 of BMI and 1% of EF reduced the odds of RBC transfusion by 13.0% and 3.0% respectively. Conclusions: Age, gender, BMI, and EF determine the probability of needing RBC transfusion during CABG, and RBC transfusion will result in longer ICULOS, and HLOS. Probability of RBC transfusion will be higher in older patients and reduced in those with higher BMI and EF.

    A cross sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence of Sarcopenia and its association with health profiles and oxidative stress among multiethnic older adults in an urban area of Malaysia. Sarcopenia was assessed using Bioimpedance analysis (BIA) and the associations between demography, socioeconomic status, lifestyle practices, health risk factors and blood profile were examined on 388 apparently healthy subjects aged 60 years and above. Prevalence of sarcopenia was 89.0% in men and 40.3% in women with the overall prevalence of 59.8%. It was found that prevalence of severe sarcopenia was 13.9% and sarcopenia obese was 23.5%. Binary logistic regression showed that there was no predictor found in men or women. However, a decline in muscle mass was observed in sarcopenic as compared with normal subjects. Sarcopenia is prevalent and there is a need to implement interventional strategies to prevent sarcopenia and its associated comorbidities.

    BACKGROUND: Nomograms are graphical calculating devices used to predict risk of malignant transformation (MT) or response to treatment during cancer management. To date, a nomogram has not been used to predict clinical outcome during oral potentially malignant disorder (PMD) treatment. The aim of this study was to create a nomogram for use by clinicians to predict the probability of MT, thereby facilitating accurate assessment of risk and objective decision-making during individual patient management.

    METHODS: Clinico-pathological data from a previously treated cohort of 590 newly presenting PMD patients were reviewed and clinical outcomes categorized as disease free, persistent PMD or MT. Multiple logistic regression was used to predict the probability of MT in the cohort using age, gender, lesion type, site and incision biopsy histopathological diagnoses. Internal validation and calibration of the model was performed using the bootstrap method (n = 1000), and bias-corrected indices of model performance were computed.

    RESULTS: Potentially malignant disorders were predominantly leukoplakias (79%), presenting most frequently at floor of mouth and lateral tongue sites (51%); 99 patients (17%) developed oral squamous cell carcinoma during the study period. The nomogram performed well when MT predictions were compared with patient outcome data, demonstrating good bias-corrected discrimination and calibration (Dxy  = 0.58; C = 0.790), with a sensitivity of 87% and specificity 63%, and a positive predictive value of 32% and negative predictive value 96%.

    CONCLUSION: The "Newcastle Nomogram" has been developed to predict the probability of MT in PMD, based on an internally validated statistical model. Based upon readily available and patient-specific clinico-pathological data, it provides clinicians with a pragmatic diagrammatic aid for clinical decision-making during diagnosis and management of PMD.

    Previous studies demonstrated that perceived overweight has a larger role than actual body weight does in suicidal ideation and attempts. Despite high suicidal rate found among university students, studies have been limited in examining the role of perceived overweight in relation to suicidality in this population. This study aims to examine the relationship between a wish to die with perceived overweight and actual weight, measured by Body Mass Index (BMI) in university students. The sample comprised of 2,000 incoming freshmen in a Japanese university. Multivariate logistic regression was used to determine the association between a wish to die and perceived overweight and actual weight. Results indicated a wish to die prevalence of 5.8% (n=115) and perceived overweight prevalence of 15.8% (n=315) among the freshmen. Perceived overweight significantly increased the odds of a wish to die by two-fold (Odds Ratio (OR) =2.01, 95% Confidence Interval (CI) = 1.20- 3.37), in contrast to actual weight which was not significantly associated with a wish to die. Findings implied the necessity to promote healthy attitudes towards body weight and self-acceptance regardless of weight status among university students that could reduce the potential risk of a wish to die from progressing along the continuum of suicidality in later life.

    There are very few prognostic studies that combine both clinicopathologic and genomic data. Most of the studies use only clinicopathologic factors without taking into consideration the tumour biology and molecular information, while some studies use genomic markers or microarray information only without the clinicopathologic parameters. Thus, these studies may not be able to prognoses a patient effectively. Previous studies have shown that prognosis results are more accurate when using both clinicopathologic and genomic data. The objectives of this research were to apply hybrid artificial intelligent techniques in the prognosis of oral cancer based on the correlation of clinicopathologic and genomic markers and to prove that the prognosis is better with both markers. The proposed hybrid model consisting of two stages, where stage one with ReliefF-GA feature selection method to find an optimal feature of subset and stage two with ANFIS classification to classify either the patients alive or dead after certain years of diagnosis. The proposed prognostic model was experimented on two groups of oral cancer dataset collected locally here in Malaysia, Group 1 with clinicopathologic markers only and Group 2 with both clinicopathologic and genomic markers. The results proved that the proposed model with optimum features selected is more accurate with the use of both clinicopathologic and genomic markers and outperformed the other methods of artificial neural network, support vector machine and logistic regression. This prognostic model is feasible to aid the clinicians in the decision support stage and to identify the high risk markers to better predict the survival rate for each oral cancer patient.

    Background: Hypertension (HTN) significantly contributes to global disease burden, and its prevalence varies amongst different countries and regions. This work is aimed to characterize the hypertensive prevalence and identify risk factors for HTN among the residents in five locations (four communes and one town) of Moc Chau district (Son La province, Vietnam).

    Methods: A cross-sectional study with a cross-sectional methodology was done in selected places from August 2018 to December 2018. We interviewed 197 participants aged equal to or more than 18 years old and measured their blood pressure (BP). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were applied.

    Results: The overall HTN prevalence of 30.0% was recorded. The differences of HTN prevalence rates were seen by several characters including age groups (p <0.001), accompanying disease (p <0.001) and alcohol drinking (p <0.05). Factors independently associated with hypertension were age (ORs: 3.1 [1.1-9.1]; 6.1 [1.7-22.3]), much salty consumption (OR: 2.6 [1.1-6.6]), alcohol use (OR: 3.1 [1.2-8.1]), HTN familial history (OR: 4.2 [1.3-13.3]) and at least one suffering disease (OR: 5.2 [2.1-12.7]).

    Conclusions: Thus, this study highlighted the high overall HTN prevalence in the Vietnam Northwestern region. Significant differences of HTN rate were observed among several characteristics such as age groups, accompanying disease and alcohol drinking. Age group, much salty consumption, alcohol use, hypertension familial history and at least one suffering disease were risk factors for HTN in study group.

    Objectives: We sought to determine the total proportion of pediatric tuberculosis cases, characterize tuberculosis by its anatomical location and pretreatment sputum smear status, and to determine the association of the sociodemographic and clinical factors with tuberculosis disease among pediatric patients in Kelantan from 2012 until 2015.

    Methods: We conducted a comparative cross-sectional study between tuberculosis cases and tuberculosis contacts among pediatric patients using the Tuberculosis Information System as a source population. All notified cases that fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study. Descriptive statistics, simple and multiple logistic regressions were used for data analysis.

    Results: Of 5412 tuberculosis cases, 456 (8.4%) were pediatric patients with a mean age of 15.9 years. The majority had the pulmonary form of tuberculosis (78.1%) followed by the extrapulmonary (14.9%) and pulmonary form with concomitant extrapulmonary (7.0%) forms. Of all pulmonary tuberculosis cases, 64.9% were sputum smear-positive, and 35.1% were sputum smear-negative. Among 322 pediatric patients with tuberculosis, the majority were Malay (90.7%), 8.4% were illiterate, and 79.5% resided in non-urban areas. Of all cases, 2.8% were HIV-positive, and 14.6% were cigarette smokers. Older age, Malay ethnicity, female gender, non-urban residence, good education level, and cigarette smoking were the significant associated factors for tuberculosis disease among pediatric patients with an adjusted odds ratio (aOR) of 1.41 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.29-1.54; p < 0.001), 0.17 (95% CI: 0.07-0.44; p < 0.001), 1.88 (95% CI: 1.33-2.65; p < 0.001), 1.92 (95% CI: 1.33-2.79; p = 0.001), 0.20 (95% CI: 0.12-0.33; p < 0.001), and 3.35 (95% CI: 1.86-6.01; p < 0.001), respectively.

    Conclusions: The study will assist practices of tuberculosis detection and control management in the local setting and may help other national tuberculosis programs to review their detection criteria with similar statistics.
